IBL Software Engineering, a leading meteorological software company, are pleased to announce that the Met Office (UK) have appointed them to develop and deliver a new software tool over the next 8 years.
The Visualisation and Graphical production component will establish a new era of cooperation between the Met Office and IBL by creating innovative and powerful tools that will transform the way weather is forecast.
The software will enable data to provide more accurate answers more efficiently. When rolled out into operation in two years, it will bring benefits of the new era of meteorology to end-users and help to fight climate change.
IBL first started working with the Met Office in 2006 and together they pioneered meteorological web services, which are now vital components for the weather infrastructure for big data at high velocities and volumes.
Under the new contract, IBL will continue to work closely with the Met Office building on the web services foundation to develop a unique solution for forecasters of the future. Aiming to create innovative visualisation tools alongside a new collaborative graphical production suite, we will pave the way towards tailored and personalised information on weather impact on human activities.
